This week, the enormous project that I’ve been working on for the past few months finally launched. It was an awesome day, and everything went incredibly smoothly. I attribute that to the awesome team that I’ve been working with.

There were about a dozen people that I wanted to specially thank with baked goods, which served two needs. One, baking for people is my m.o. at Dyn. Two, I needed something to take my mind off the launch the night before. Having seen this idea on I Am Mommy’s blog just a week or so earlier, I realized that I could bake individual cakes knowing what the different individuals’ tastes were! (more…)

blueberry-cupcakeI had a ton of leftover blueberries from my mini blueberry pies in jars, and I needed something easy and pretty to bring with me to my company’s 4th of July party.

Our company has just moved to a new location, and our old office had an amazing view of the city from which you could see all the fireworks. As a send-off to the old place, we all gathered once more to share food and watch the fireworks. It was terrific, and a really nice way to spend the last moments together in the old office.

Blueberry Pies in Mason Jars

Recipe: Brooklyn Supper's Cherry and Blueberry Star Pies in Jars

Few things are more beautiful, I think, than these sweet little blueberry pies in mason jars, complete with little stars for the Fourth of July.

My husband and I are fortunate enough to have very loving relatives (his parents, my in-laws) on Cape Cod. We needed to escape for a relaxing weekend leading up to Independence Day, and they received us with open arms. I was eager to bake something 4th-of-July-y, and I also knew that my mother in law has a bunch of mason jars that would be the perfect size for us to bake in. This recipe was a terrific match.

The cottage that we baked in was perfect. The feeling of the home was all about love and family. Their property evokes some history and nostalgia; it makes the perfect getaway from my normal life of computers and Internet and 24 hour access. (more…)
