Snickers Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe: Two Peas and Their Pod's Peanut Butter Snickers Cookies
Total time: 30 minutes
Ease: Intermediate
Unusual ingredients: Snickers, peanut butter

The trick to these cookies was patience. But they were soooo worth it.

Out of the three chocolate chip cookie competitors, this one was the clear winner for most. Between the caramel, nougat, peanut butter, and chocolate, it had all the makings of a deliciously unusual snack. It was also significantly heavier than the others (seriously; I had to carry a bag of these in one hand and the other two in the other hand!).

So why did I need patience? The oil from the peanut butter plus the slipperyness of the Snickers bar was just too much for these poor cookies to handle.

These cookies did not want to stay together. I had to pound them into my cookie scoop and try to stick them to my cookie sheets, praying that they’d retain some sort of form before I put them in the oven. I made sure there wasn’t any extra heat in the area, the cookie sheets were cool, etc. as I tried to form these cookies – but it was still pretty frustrating.

That being said, it does not matter one bit what these cookies look like. They are so tasty, and no one even noticed their malformation as they stuffed their faces with them!

I think these cookies look delicious, I would never know you had such a hard time with them, but I am glad you are honest, so others that try them know what they are getting into! Snickers are my favorite candy bar and these sound sooooo yummy.

Did you refrigerate the dough first? If not, I wonder if that would make the dough more manageable. They sure do look worth the trouble, though!
